GE Garages was first launched in 2012 at SXSW as a program to reinvigorate public's interest in invention, innovation, and manufacturing. Equipped with the latest laser cutters, 3D printers, injection molders, cnc mills, and other manufacturing tools, visitors are invited to participate in talks, hands-on workshops, and public works projects. Collaborators include TechShop, Skillshare, Quirky, littleBits, MakerBot, Inventables, Autodesk, and more.
